A Not So Blue Monday

Tuesday, 3 October 2017

Hello pals! It feels so great to be writing again you have no idea. This week has been filled with, nothing much. Very similar to a lot of other weeks recently but I think I'm still in that cloud of enjoyment after being soooo busy for half the year. I have begun the job search though, but I'm keeping it chill, I think that's my new catchphrase. Here are the things that have made me particularly happy this week:

O C T O B E R ____________________________________________________________________

Yep, it's that wonderful time of month again when the leaves start to go brown and it gets hella' cosy. I've raved about how much I love this month on here before but honestly I always feel so rejuvenated when the days start to get colder and the nights longer. I think I live for Hygge and that's not so bad, I get to do almost everything in my pyjamas and not go outside a lot apart from chilly walks in the woods; that's the life for me!

I'm just really hyped for October this year because it's looking to be a pretty exciting month. A month of new starts, even though I've already had around 10 this year, but still.. to new starts.

Bojack Horseman_________________________________________________________________

The new season came out and I watched it all in a day, I'm not even sorry. I've come to realise that this might be one of my favourite programs ever and I never thought a silly lil' animation about a horse that's a man would be so complex. I think it's definitely been taking a page from Rick and Morty's book because every episode is getting more and more poignant and sardonic. I love it so much that I've started watching it from the beginning again, that never happens with me and Tv shows. As I write this I'm watching season 2 episode 8, I feel like Todd, but I love it.

Time for Gigs_____________________________________________________________________

I've been taking a lot of trips to Carlisle recently, which is strange because I don't live there anymore. Whilst I was writing my dissertation I had to sacrifice my music a little bit, but now I'm free from academia I can play as many gigs as I want. Only trouble is it's quite a trip to Carlisle now but I don't really mind seems as I get to play my tunes to people that appreciate music every week. I do keep thinking I can just head round the corner to my house afterwards though which is weird, instead of getting the night bus home, which is actually pretty similar to the actual night bus, good ol' Cumbrians. What I'm trying to say is my guitar Janis and I are enjoying doing more and more gigs, it's one of the things I love most in the world.

Prank Me ________________________________________________________________________

Hazel Hayes released her new series 'Prank Me' this week and I binge watched it all in one night. I thought it was brilliant and a really scary reflection of what Youtube culture could actually develop into, well the twatty side of Youtube anyway (you know the ones). It has nods to Black Mirror but also stands alone as a horror series, it's pretty dark and contains clowns, perfect for Halloween time. I also tweeted about it and Hazel liked it and I didn't fan-girl at all.. not. at. all.

How was your Monday?

  1. I've never seen Bojack Horseman, but I've seen clips of Rick and Morty and found it pretty fun, I'll have to check it out!

    1. Oh definitely! I would say Bojack's a bit more chill than Rick and Morty, so maybe start there.

  2. I also dashed through the new season of Bojack. I was so desperate for it to come out! I love that show so much - this new season was so dark and poignant, and I loved how they broached intergenerational trauma and covered the rest of the Horseman family. Rick and Morty is another favourite show of mine!

    1. Ahhh it's so good isn't it?! Yep I love all the backstory even though it's pretty heartbreaking, it just shows how much thought goes into each character.

  3. My fiancé really likes Bojack Horeseman but I've actually never seen an episode - I'll definitely have to check it out! All my shows came back on so it might be a while, haha.

    1. Aww it's so good and then you can bond about it after you've seen some cutee, the good thing is that they're only 20 mins long so don't take up a lot of time to watch.
