A Not So Blue Monday

Monday, 23 October 2017

Hello pals! This week has consisted of mini adventures but today has consisted of not a lot, Louie and I have watched a lot of things today, snuggled up in bed. But that's okay, it's good to have days like this. Here are the things that have made me particularly happy this week:

The main part of this week took Emily and I to Newcastle to see Dodie live. It was such a wonderful weekend and it was so nice to get out into the city, even if it was just for a day. We explored Newcastle, hit the vintage shops, ate lovely vegan food at The Bohemian- which I have to say is an amazing place that's just opened up and I had one of the best pizzas I had ever eaten. We also visited a cat cafe, which I have to say was one of the most wholesome and relaxing places I have ever been, I got to drink peppermint tea and stroke a dozen cats, I was so, so happy. Dodie's gig was amazing and so inspirational, she's always been a big influence for me in her music and production, so it was really cool to see her on stage with a band and her uke. It was an emotional gig and I left with a very warm heart and a huge sense of pride for Dodie. It also gave me so much motivation to continue to do this music thing myself and maybe one day I'll be playing in Newcastle with a band- who knows!

Reading in the Morning ____________________________________________________________

I used to always be an avid nighttime reader, but recently I just haven't had those book-worm feelings y'know? Ever since writing my dissertation my relationship with reading has certainly changed and I still can't lay my eyes on factual books; I crave for adventure and fantasy-I don't understand how most of my friends are doing their masters already, I'm still recovering- But recently I've been waking up at 8 in the morning, giving me time to chill out before getting up and starting my day. So I've been starting my day with a book instead of a phone. It's allowing me to get through books more quickly as well, which is great because my reading list is growing by the day.

Demi Lavato - Simply Complicated ___________________________________________________

I'm currently watching this documentary about Demi Lavato on Youtube, for free and it's such good quality. Despite being a little dramatic it's very well produced and a raw look into Demi's career and her as a person. I've always been a fan of her music but never realised how much shit she went through during it, it just makes me admire her so much more, those vocals always will blow me away.

How was your Monday?
